Auburn OHV Exploring

This ride was a lot of fun.  It was really nice to get up to Auburn and give the new bike a run on trails I was familiar with, as well as taking the opportunity to do a little exploring in the Mammoth Bar OHV park. I've been riding in Auburn since 2006 and sadly I have not ridden the trails in the OHV park until recently.  I saw the Rocky Trail featured in another YouTube video by the Trail Peek guys. They are just phenomenal riders so I wasn't expecting my run to be like theirs.  However I do owe their video a little thanks for getting me on the trail.  Either way the OHV park stuff is not XC by any means.  Typically it's pretty technical or has +/- elevation that is steep. I've been on some of the climbs that you are just thinking, this was definitely made for a motor that is powered by a combustion engine instead of a heart.  There is a climb (or walk for us) that was just insane getting out of there.  At the end of the day all the pain was worth the reward.  That trail is on the list of places to go back and keep trying until I can clean the whole thing.  It's always fun having a new challenge, especially when it's in your back yard!

I'm just a guy in Northern California that loves riding bikes. Most of my time is spent on a mountain bike. I also own a single speed for around town and commuting. Last but not least I own a cross bike. I couldn't bring myself to buy a road bike. That was my compromise to be able to ride with the lady. I'm originally from Pennsylvania and have that blunt east coast attitude. Some people love it, some people hate it. Either way I wake up in the morning.
