B1KER Bar Ep. 37 – Charlie Kelly

Charlie Kelly isn't always a name that is widely known in today's mountain bike culture. However he is quite possibly the sole inventor of what is modern day downhill racing. On this episode we go from a few long haired hippies racing each other down the trail for bragging rights to riding today's bikes with modern technology. Most of the people that Charlie refers to by their first name are guys that have built companies that are widely known in the mountain bike industry. This interview is hands down my favorite conversation I've had in all of the time I've done my channel. It was truly a pleasure to have the opportunity to sit down and chat with a guy who was part of building this great sport that I enjoy.

I'm just a guy in Northern California that loves riding bikes. Most of my time is spent on a mountain bike. I also own a single speed for around town and commuting. Last but not least I own a cross bike. I couldn't bring myself to buy a road bike. That was my compromise to be able to ride with the lady. I'm originally from Pennsylvania and have that blunt east coast attitude. Some people love it, some people hate it. Either way I wake up in the morning.
