Stop that Squeak – Install New Rotors and Sand Pads

The break squeal/squeak of my SRAM brakes have been annoying the crud out of me since I purchased the bike. I've been trying different things to get them to be quite. It seems like every fix is short lived. I have a theory that the rotors may be heating up too much so I decided to get better ones and to also sand the pads like the shop explained to me. We'll see if this works. Nothing to see here Nothing to see here SRAM CenterLine X Rotor220 Grit SandpaperPark Adjustable Torque Driver

Rock Creek Fail

As I drove towards Rock Creek I came to the quick realization that I was under prepared. I just used google to get directions to Georgetown and figured once I got there I'd take a look at the map and get exact directions. I didn't once think that there wouldn't be any cell signal in Georgetown. That was the beginning of a bunch of bad planning decisions that I made that day. My printed map was too small to read. So I was left with what was on my phone. However, if for some reason my battery died or I crashed and broke my phone...I'd be ass out. My understanding of how Strava works should have been tested before I left Sacramento. Apparently you can't just bring up a ride and follow it. Doh! Nor does it work to zoom around when there is no cell signal. Either way, after I drove all the way up there I decided to overcome the inside voice that was telling me to just leave. I headed out the direction that I thought I was supposed to be headed, and out into the great unknown. It was an adventure. Not a super productive one,…

New Shoe Day

Brush Hero

This thing really blew me away!  I have always looked at the guys with super clean bikes and purely couldn't bring myself to clean my bike that often....or next to never.  I ran into this product when all the Poison Oak was sprouting out here and thought this thing could kill two birds with one stone. ( A: Clean my bike  B: Clean the Poison Oak oil off my bike)  This thing delivered in spades.  I couldn't have  been more pleased with how well this thing worked.  Please don't hesitate to purchase it, I'm telling you without a doubt I recommend this product!  In my video I mentioned that they don't have the duo pack on Amazon, however if you go to their website it is a few bucks cheaper.  www.brushhero.com Nothing to see here Nothing to see here Brush Hero Soap Star Dawn Platinum

Camp with B1KER & BKXC

I mentioned on the channel that I wanted to set up a camping trip for us to be able to get together. I'm super excited to put some faces to names and get out and ride some awesome trails in Downieville. This is not a paid hosted, sponsored, supported trip with any guarantees. I'm not making any money off of this in any way and to be honest am purely doing this for us to get together and have a good time. I did however try to sweeten the pot when I reached out to BKXC.I personally have been wanting to meet him and on his channel he talks about building a community and that appeals to me because I have similar goals for my channel. So I reached out to him and asked if he'd like to be involved.  He thoguht it sounded like a great idea and let me know what his schedule looked like.  Unfortunately the end of the summer wasn't open for him so if it was going to work, it was going to be with short notice! Let's be clear about one thing here. We may or may not be able to ride together. I'm going…

The Jackass Trail

This was a short little trail we decided to do while in North Lake Tahoe after riding the Sawtooth Trail. It was really a lot of fun. I mean so much fun it would be worth driving up to just do it 3 or 4 times. The climb wasn't too bad and the grin meter was off the charts! Garmin or Strava JPG or PDF GoPro Tool

Sawtooth Trail

On this ride Moonlight Leatherfoot, The Billygoat, and Bearded Ben went with me up to Truckee, Ca to ride the Sawtooth trail. This trail was a lot of fun with very little elevation change. Overall it was a good time. We rode another trail that day as well and I would recommend either doing the trail 2 times maybe once clockwise and another time counter-clockwise, doing 2 laps, or finding some other trails to link to it. First Subscriber Ride

This was a double first day.  First time riding Napa's Skyline Wilderness Park and the first time riding with a YouTube Subscriber!!!  My buddy Bearded Ben and I met up with Steve Y and we all three took on the task of not getting lost in Skyline.  We got some trail advice that must have been from a billy goat because the first climb was brutal.  Aside from that the ride was fun.  I'm sure I'll go back, but next time I'll climb the fire road instead of that monster of a hill.   We parked at the gravel parking lot on Streblow across from college then: River to Ridge Trail > Skyline Trail > Buckeye > Skyline Trail towards Tuteur Loop >Tuteur Loop clockwise > back on Skyline Trail towards Chaparral > down Chaparral > Marie Creek Trail > Manzanita Trail > Biker's Bypass to main parking lot > Skyline Trail> Back out on River to Ridge Trail Garmin or Strava JPG or PDF Nothing to see here
