B1KER Bar Ep. 53 – Kali Protectives

Kali Protectives better known as just "Kali" has been providing high quality protective gear to the moto and mountain bike scene for years. On this episode we talk to Brad Waldron the founder and lead engineer of the company. We be talk about how the company came to be, their own flavor of MIPS called LDL, and about why it's important to protect your head. Kali has always been my favorite company I've worked with and Brad is a big part of that. By the end of this episode you'll understand why I feel that way. 2018 Interbike & The Outdoor Demo

Interbike 2018 was held in two separate events. One open for the public called the Outdoor Demo at Northstar and another closed to industry professionals at the Sparks Reno Convention Center. This was my first time ever going to one and I was really blown away by the size of the event. Although I heard from others that have been going for years it's size has greatly diminished due to the bigger bike companies pulling out and hosting their own events. None-the-less I went up there with the intention of meeting companies to be part of the B1KER Bar Podcast. All in all it was a good time and highly productive. Kali Protectives

I had the opportunity to take a tour of the Kali Headquarters and speak with the head of marketing as well as the founder of the company. Wow, what an awesome experience. I'll be honest I didn't know them or their products before I walked in the door but by the time I walked out I was super stoked about who they are, what they stand for, and am really excited to be trying out some of their products. They also have extended a 15% discount to anyone who watches my channel and an even better one to the Patrons! If you want 15% off use this link: kaliB1KER15 or just go to the site and enter the coupon code kaliB1KER15.  If you'd like to save even more money at Kali as well as some other vendors I've worked out some deals with head over to the B1KER Patreon.  The goal there is to build enough discounts that being a Patron will pay for itself.  All membership levels have access to the coupons.  Nothing to see here Nothing to see here Kali 15% OffB1KER Patreon

Granite Bay SS

I truly wasn't sure if I was going to even finish editing this video. The initial reason for going out was purely to get Clint's wife out on the trail. Her first experience mountain biking was several years prior and she broke one of her fingers on the ride. As you would suspect that injury really kept her from getting on a mountain bike again. This was the first ride to try and trick her into being a mountain biker. We went out to Granite Bay which is about as mellow as it gets in this area. I used to bring the kids out to ride here when I was first getting them into riding. Since the Bronson is in shop I decided to take out the CX bike. I hadn't been on it for several months and literally had to wipe the dust layer off of it. Garmin or Strava JPG or PDF Nothing to see here
