Channel Intro – The Second First Time

Today is the second first time I've posted to the B1KER YouTube channel!  Around 3 years ago I came up with an idea for a website that would showcase videos of the trails in my area.  There were a few websites that had great reviews of trails when I first started riding in this area and since then they have become outdated. I wanted to have forums, reviews of local shops, trail reviews, you name it.  So I started creating a site with all of the above.  Somewhere along the line I realized I should shoot GoPro videos of the trails instead of just writing about them and that was the nail in the coffin.  I'm a tech guy.  I work in IT.  This is a blessing and a curse.  On one hand it's nice to know how to do things.  On the other hand you can get caught up in figuring out how to do things.  For example, the average guy goes out and buys a GoPro then creates a video.  Spends a few minutes uploading it to YouTube and calls it a day.  I buy the GoPro then need and intro video that looks like Steven Spielberg produced.  Then I need to make sure that I have multiple angles.  What music can I use? Down the rabbit hole I went.  Ultimately I recorded countless hours of GoPro video and produced like 3 videos.  I left one of them on my channel as well.  Just to remind me where I stared.

Back to the video: I'm not entirely crazy about the video, I'm sure there were a million things I could have done better.  I'll be honest, I know that.  To be totally forthcoming I needed to post this the way it is or I will do just like I have done in the past and start over analyzing every detail. So here is the video with all of it's imperfections.  This is the start of many more to come.  So please take a moment and go to my YouTube Channel and subscribe!

Nothing to see here

I'm just a guy in Northern California that loves riding bikes. Most of my time is spent on a mountain bike. I also own a single speed for around town and commuting. Last but not least I own a cross bike. I couldn't bring myself to buy a road bike. That was my compromise to be able to ride with the lady. I'm originally from Pennsylvania and have that blunt east coast attitude. Some people love it, some people hate it. Either way I wake up in the morning.
